Concentration
The main focus of my concentration is on war. My aim is to portray its negative effects as well as how it is often romanticized. By showing the horrors of war in my art, but displaying them in a way that does not look at all as dark as the subject matter, I will be representing how the awful things that occur in war are sometimes glamorized. I hope that with this concentration I will also be able to bring awareness to some of the atrocities of war. If people are more aware of the mistakes we have made in the past we will be less likely to repeat them in the future. |

My concentration work demonstrates the celebration of nature through my exploration of different landscapes and animals within nature, no matter how big or small. I paint landscapes in different regions of the world, in different climates, and try to capture different elements that make that particular scene unique. Besides landscapes, I am exploring the illustration of animals in their natural environment. My specific examples of my celebration of the beauty and diversity within nature include concentration #5, in which I painted a range of snowy mountains behind a frozen lake. Another concentration example in which I display a warmer nature climate is concentration #6, where I painted a thunderstorm occurring in a warm valley area. Besides my landscape pieces that portray different parts of the world, I have also painted a photo of a reindeer in its natural forest habitat. I believe that I have accurately depicted the central idea of my concentration in all of my works. |

Concentration
My overall idea is to create pieces of work that tell people a story without words, and express what it’s like to have some sort of psychological disorder. The idea is to show the viewer what it may be like to have the disorder seen in the image. It is to create a feeling within the viewer of how horrible it can be to have to live with these things, and how they shouldn’t see these people as helpless or insane. People should be seeing others with these setbacks as someone who needs their help. |

Concentration
The focus of my concentration was exploring the human subconscious in order to portray the absurdity blended with reality that is present in our dreams.
Through this investigation, I wanted to make a viewer see things differently. Things that obviously are not there combined with existing places and things. For example, I combined a rendering of the Washington Monument with a red sky to show the political turmoil of the 2016 Election as we were getting closer to the election itself. In another, I combined the new World Trade Center with a bright sunny background to convey a theme of hope.
